The third-grade class of Boght Hills Elementary School, with the help of teachers Mrs. Carroll, Mrs. Sumners and Mrs. Compton, decorated squares for patchwork quilts, a favorite among CF patients.
The Jean & Robert Taylor Fund, based in Rochester, made a generous donation of $2,500.
In honor of what would have been CF patient David Carroll’s birthday, the Carroll and Kot families from Colonie organized a Valentine’s Daythemed giveaway for patients going to the CF clinic. Spearheaded by David’s son, Ryan, the special gift bags included homemade Valentines, Krause’s candy (David’s favorite) and $50 cash. The family also
donated a Wii console, accessories and electronic games to Albany Med’s E-5 lounge.
Girl Scout Victoria Keating made homemade chocolate lollypops for CF patients.
The Albany Starfish Swim Club raised $5,913.94 at its recent Seventh Annual Swim Mania competition. Under the direction of head coach Tom Steuer, to date the team has raised more than $43,000.
