The Fourth Annual Charity Golf Classic recently held at the Edison Club in Rexford raised more than $11,000 for the Donna M. Crandall Memorial Foundation. Organized by a volunteer committee lead by chairwomen Kathy Travis and Pat Poklemba, 76 golfers joined special guest Benita Zahn from WNYT-TV and hole-in-one sponsor Mangino Buick Chevrolet. Other sponsors included INTEGRA Networks, Capital Communications, Joseph T. Gravini, CFP, Blue Shield of Northeastern New York, Inc., Siena College, AYCO Co., LP, and Poklemba and Hobbs, LLC.
The low gross team included Jack Dowd, John Kellogg, Rick Travis and Steve Jones. The low net team was comprised of Gene Ryan, Kathleen Ryan, Mary McGovern and Katherine Ryan.
“The immense sense of satisfaction of doing something good is a huge reward for the time and effort expended,” said Kathy. To date, the golf tournaments have raised over $33,000 for the Foundation. “After each tournament, we receive an email detailing how the money we raised has helped and it moves me to tears.”
Kathy‚Äôs co-chair Pat agreed, commenting, “Having been involved with the Crandall Foundation for the last three years, I have gotten to know and admire the people behind this foundation. I look forward to many more years of success.”
The Fifth Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for June 6, 2011, at the Edison Club.
